Taos Land & Film Company: Where Taos Land Sales Fund Independent Films
IN DEVELOPMENT
In Pre-Production: Everything Beautiful Is Far Away
Everything Beautiful will mark one of Taos Land & Film's early forays into utilizing online fundraising platforms with a planned Kickstarter Campaign for the film.

Everything Beautiful Is Far Away

Independent filmmaker Jeff Jackson teams up with Taos-based actor/writer Arron Shiver [Men Who Stare At Goats] to direct this rakish tale of a damaged twenty-something newsstand attendent (played by Shiver) whose obsession with a wild teen she-terror drives him to disintegration and madness.
A Restraining-Order Love Story
Dark and quirky stories of impossibly lopsided relationships are nothing new to Jackson, who likes to refer to Everything as "a story of restraining order love".
He's currently doing post production work on Ghost Phone about a guy trying to maintain a relationship with his deceased fiancée in the afterlife. Then there's Postal Worker (1998), starring Brad Garrett of Everybody Loves Raymond fame, about a demented postal worker scheduled to go over the edge and his obsession with a hot blonde female co-worker [ Grace Cavanaugh ].

But where Ghost Phone and Postal Worker indelicately pry open popular notions of comedy, Everything promises to take a decidedly more sober tack, ploughing headlong into themes of schizophrenia, teen angst, and psycho-sexual dystopia, all set to a driving soundtrack inspired by Jackson's college days as the lead singer for experimental punk band, The Butchers.

BACKGROUND
Dead Boys, by author Richard Lange
Taos Land & Film Company acquired the rights to the Richard Lange short story by the same title [his Dead Boys compilation] more than 10 years ago, and the riveting imagery has gnawed at us ever since. It will finally come to the screen with the help of Kickstarter.
interactCASTING CONTEST
Casting Contest: Seeking Shehla
Speaking of "restraining order love", we're planning on doing some stalking of our own. Taos Land & Film will be scouring the web for candidates to play the role of Shehla in the film, then we're going to let our web audience vote to help determine the winner! While no prior acting experience is required, the best candidates will have talent, charisma, and the confidence to take on the role of a tasteless man-eating she-terror!
